Photo of Tarique Rahman and Donald Trump at dinner released

Prime Minister Mr. Tarique Rahman and his wife Dr. Zubaida Rahman joined a dinner hosted by US President Mr. Donald Trump. The dinner was held in New York, United States, earlier this month. Yesterday, the White House, the official home and main office of the US President, released a photo of the dinner. The Prime Minister’s Office in Bangladesh confirmed this.

Mr. Trump hosted the dinner to honour world leaders who came for the 81st session of the UN General Assembly. It took place at the luxury Lotte New York Palace Hotel. Heads of government and heads of state of UN member countries came with their wives and husbands. In the photo, Mr. Trump stands in the middle, with Mr. Tarique Rahman and Dr. Zubaida Rahman on his two sides.

Mr. Trump and First Lady Ms. Melania Trump organised the dinner for the leaders at the General Assembly session. The Prime Minister went to New York earlier this month to join the session. This was his first time at the UN General Assembly as Prime Minister.

During his four days at the UN, Mr. Tarique Rahman held bilateral meetings with 11 countries. He gave a historic speech at the General Assembly session. He also made six other important speeches and took part in 30 international programmes.
