‘Roid’ Wins Best in Three Categories at International Film Festival in Canada

Director Mejbaur Rahman Sumon’s film ‘Roid’ has won awards in three categories at Canada’s Mosaic International South Asian Film Festival. The festival, which began on September 30, concluded last Sunday. The film’s director shared that in its 12th edition, Nazifa Tushi won Best Actress, Zowayher Mussavvir won Best Cinematographer, and Rashid Sharif Shoaib won Best Music. Mr. Sumon remarked, ‘Winning these awards in competition with world-class films is a major achievement for us. Actress Nazifa Tushi’s performance captivated the audience and earned widespread praise. This international recognition for her is truly a wonderful feeling. Additionally, there was very positive discussion about the film’s cinematography and background score. The recognition of artists in these two categories has only added to our joy.’
Nazifa Tushi stated, ‘My main goal has always been to do good work, not to win awards. Portraying the character accurately on screen is my primary effort. However, if such work receives recognition, it is certainly delightful. This achievement significantly increases my sense of responsibility as an actress. I pray that this beautiful trajectory of work continues in the future’.
