Indian National Arrested with Four Bottles of Liquor in Hili

Police have arrested an Indian national named Ajit Kumar Ghosh, 42, with four bottles of liquor in the Madhyabasudebpur area of Hili in Hakimpur upazila, Dinajpur. An Indian passport and an Aadhaar card were also recovered from him.

Ajit Kumar Ghosh is the son of Girendra Nath Ghosh of Goshaipur village under Patiram Police Station in South Dinajpur district of India.

He was arrested during an anti-drug operation at a road intersection in front of Ganesh’s Chatal in the Madhyabasudebpur area of Hakimpur Municipality at around 8:30 pm on Wednesday (October 14).
Confirming the matter on Thursday (October 15) afternoon, Gopal Chandra Sarkar, sub-inspector (SI) of Hakimpur (Hili) Police Station, said four bottles of liquor, a passport and an Aadhaar card were recovered from Ajit Kumar Ghosh during the operation.

He added that a case had been filed at Hakimpur Police Station under Section 36(1), Schedule 24(a), of the Narcotics Control Act, 2018. The arrested man was later sent to the court in Dinajpur.
