Muslims Will No Longer Make Leaders; They Will Lead Themselves

All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi launched a sharp critique of the Samajwadi Party and its leader Akhilesh Yadav during a public rally in Rampur ahead of the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. He accused traditional political parties of historically treating Muslims merely as a vote bank while failing to provide adequate opportunities to foster political leadership within the community.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Owaisi stated that young Muslims possess the necessary merit and potential to become political leaders but are consistently denied platforms to enter politics. He emphasised that the community must move beyond the mindset of remaining mere supporters of established political leaders and instead demand a direct role in policymaking.

Quoting Asaduddin Owaisi, ANI reported, ‘We will no longer accept any Nehru, Gandhi, or Yadav as our leader. These young boys and girls will lead us from the front.’ He further remarked that young individuals have ample talent, yet they are not given any platform or opportunity to showcase it.

In his critique of the Samajwadi Party, Mr. Owaisi questioned its long-standing political influence in Azamgarh, asking what the party has actually given to the district despite generations of Muslim support. Citing an interview example, he highlighted that a historic institution like Shibli College has still not been granted university status, contrasting it sharply with the advanced educational and sports infrastructure developed in Saifai.

Concluding his address, Mr. Owaisi urged party workers to strengthen AIMIM’s organisational structure at the grassroots level and boost support at every polling booth ahead of the upcoming assembly elections. He demanded equal rights, economic development, and proper representation for disadvantaged communities to ensure justice for the oppressed.
