181-Member Committee of Bangladesh Jamiatul Modarresin’s Bhola Sadar Unit Announced

The 181-member full committee of the Bhola Sadar upazila unit of Bangladesh Jamiatul Modarresin has been officially announced for a five-year term. The announcement was made at 10am on Tuesday (October 27) at the meeting room of Bhola Darul Hadis Kamil (Postgraduate) Madrasa. Alhaj Maulana Mohammad Mobashshirul Haque Naim, secretary of the Bhola district unit of Bangladesh Jamiatul Modarresin and acting principal of Bhola Darul Hadis Kamil Madrasa, attended the event as the chief guest and announced the new committee.

The programme was chaired by Maulana Abdul Latif, chief adviser to the Bhola Sadar upazila unit and former principal of Chandraprasad Alim Madrasa. Maulana Md Hossain, organisational secretary of the district unit and superintendent of Ramganj Tofailia Dakhil Madrasa in Lalmohan, attended as a special guest. Maulana Md Harun, outgoing secretary of the Bhola Sadar unit and superintendent of South Koralia Dakhil Madrasa, delivered the welcome address.

In his speech, the chief guest thanked the outgoing committee members for their sacrifice, competence, sincerity and dedication in carrying out their organisational responsibilities. He also prayed for the forgiveness of members who had passed away and stressed the need to inform the younger generation about their contributions.

He said Maulana M A Mannan (RA), the late former president of Bangladesh Jamiatul Modarresin, former minister and founder of the daily Inqilab, had made outstanding contributions to madrasa education and improving the status of teachers in the country. He stressed that the younger generation should learn about Mannan’s contributions and life’s work, and that future generations should continue to express gratitude for his service. He also expressed gratitude to the late leader’s family.

Call for unity to protect teachers’ rights

The chief guest said Bangladesh Jamiatul Modarresin was a non-political professional organisation and a common platform for Islamic scholars, spiritual leaders and madrasa teachers. He urged teachers to remain united in protecting their professional interests and securing their rights, regardless of personal differences or individual positions.

He renewed the demand to bring the jobs of teachers and employees of private madrasas under nationalisation, along with the nationalisation of independent Ebtedayee madrasas. He called on all teachers and employees to be prepared to participate in movements under the organisation’s banner whenever programmes were announced.

He expressed hope that Bangladesh Jamiatul Modarresin would continue to play an effective role in securing teachers’ legitimate demands, as it had done in the past.
