Mojtaba Khamenei Emphasises Scientific Innovation to Strengthen Iran
Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei has stressed the importance of advancing scientific knowledge, technology and innovative research to make the country stronger. He said encouraging talented individuals to move beyond the conventional boundaries of scientific knowledge and develop new solutions is key to strengthening Iran.
His remarks were reported by Iran’s semi-official Tasnim News Agency on Tuesday, October 27. A day earlier, on Monday, October 26, he issued a message to talented individuals and medal winners who had achieved international success in science and sports.
In his message, Mojtaba Khamenei said scientific and technological capabilities were crucial to strengthening Iran’s global standing. To achieve this goal, the country’s scientists and talented individuals must explore new areas of research and find effective solutions to scientific challenges.
He also said what he described as hostile actions against Iranian scientists and talented individuals demonstrated their important role in strengthening the country. He alleged that various efforts were being made to discourage talented people and obstruct Iran’s scientific progress.
Mojtaba Khamenei called for clear plans to develop fundamental sciences and the humanities to accelerate scientific advancement. He identified fundamental disciplines, including physics, chemistry, biology and mathematics, as the foundation of technological development.
He also emphasised the need to foster an environment conducive to creativity and innovation in research, provide appropriate incentives for talented individuals, and establish effective links among universities, research institutions and industry.
According to him, these initiatives are essential to translating research findings into practical applications in production and services.
