Democrats Vow Action to End ‘Illegal War’ in Iran

Democratic Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz has said the new US Congress, which will take office next January, will take strong steps to end what she described as the “illegal war” in Iran. Her remarks came after the Democratic Party secured majorities in both chambers of the US Congress in the recent midterm elections.

In a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, the Florida congresswoman strongly criticised Republicans, referring to their political slogan, “Make America Great Again” (MAGA). She wrote, “MAGA extremists tried to tear our country apart, but they failed.”

Highlighting the significance of the Democrats’ return to power in Congress, she said the party would restore America’s traditional values and put an end to political extremism in the country. Democratic lawmakers will begin working to accelerate efforts to end the war once the new congressional term starts in January.
