Kangana Faces Backlash Over Religious Remarks

Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has once again sparked controversy with her remarks on religion. In a recent video, she described herself as a devout Hindu and, without naming anyone, claimed that some actresses who were once indifferent to religion and politics became left-wing after marrying Muslim men.

Many social media users speculated that the comments were directed at Sonakshi Sinha. Following the video’s circulation, an old interview of Kangana resurfaced online, reigniting debate.

In the interview, a journalist asked Kangana what kind of groom she would choose from Pakistan. Laughing, she replied that someone aged between 30 and 35 would be fine. She said it would not matter if he did not recognise her and added that she wanted a simple married life. Kangana also spoke about her cooking skills, saying she could prepare a variety of Mughlai and Indian dishes, including chicken makhani and korma.

The resurfaced interview triggered widespread discussion on social media. Some users accused Kangana of hypocrisy, pointing out that she had once spoken positively about marrying a Pakistani Muslim while now criticising interfaith marriages. Others said her earlier remarks contradicted her current criticism of those she describes as liberals or left-wing.
