Buttler Tops All-Time T20 Run Charts

England’s Jos Buttler has surpassed West Indies’ Kieron Pollard to become the highest run-scorer in recognised T20 cricket. Representing Manchester Super Giants, Buttler reached the milestone on Wednesday after scoring 51 off 20 balls against Welsh Fire in The Hundred. His innings included two fours and six sixes.

Buttler now has 14,833 runs in 492 innings from 522 matches, including nine centuries and 106 half-centuries. He overtook Pollard in 171 fewer innings. Pollard is now second on the all-time list with 14,803 runs in 663 innings from 746 matches, including two centuries and 70 half-centuries. West Indies great Chris Gayle ranks third with 14,562 runs in 455 innings from 463 matches, including 22 centuries and 88 half-centuries.

Gayle held the record for the most runs in recognised T20 cricket from March 2014 until Pollard overtook him in June. Pollard’s reign was short-lived, as Buttler has now claimed the record. England’s Alex Hales is fourth with 14,449 runs in 523 innings from 528 matches, while former Australia opener David Warner completes the top five with 14,284 runs from 439 matches.
