More than 770 US troops killed or wounded in conflict with Iran
More than 750 US service members have been wounded since the war with Iran began, according to data published on the US Department of Defense website.
More than 50 additional troops were added to the Pentagon’s casualty list on Wednesday, bringing the total number of wounded to 757 and deaths to 18.
Iran has opposed US President Donald Trump’s declaration of an “economic D-Day” and threatened to sanction any country that helps the Middle Eastern country.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said the move would only result in an “even bigger defeat” for the United States. He accused Trump of using the issue to divert attention from what he described as America’s own crisis of unprecedented debt and rising interest costs.
Trump warned in a Truth Social post on Wednesday that any country allowing its financial institutions, businesses, airports or government agencies to provide any form of assistance to Iran would face severe economic consequences.
“This will be an economic world war,” Trump said, calling on all US allies to stand with Washington to isolate and defeat what he described as the Iranian threat.
