Three New Ministers and Two State Ministers Pay Tribute at National Martyrs’ Memorial

Three newly appointed ministers and two state ministers paid generous respects to Liberation War martyrs on Saturday, putting wreaths at the main altar of the National Heroes’ Memorial in Savar at around 1:15 p.m. Local Government Minister Dr. Abdul Moyeen Khan, Minister of Civil Aviation M. Rashiduzzaman Millat, Minister of CHT Affairs Saching Prue Jerry, Foreign State Minister Humayun Kabir, and State Minister of Religious Affairs Mohammad Shamim Quaysar Linkon made up the delegation. Notably, Barrister Andaleeve Rahman Partha, the Minister of Information, was not there.

The current cabinet members showed their heartfelt regard for the dead national heroes by observing a brief period of mournful silence after the wreath-laying ceremony. Before ending their visit to the monument, they signed the official visitors’ book maintained on the memorial grounds, completing the traditional ceremonial process.

The five dignitaries’ visit was verified by Anwar Hossain Anu, a sub-assistant engineer at the Public Works Department. He mentioned that during the ceremony, the grounds were momentarily closed to the general public for security and protocol concerns; however, the grounds were soon reopened following the ministers’ departure.
