President begins official activities at Bangabhaban

Newly elected President Mr. Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir began his official activities at Bangabhaban for the first time after taking the oath of office. The President arrived at Bangabhaban at 11am yesterday. A smartly dressed mounted contingent of the Bangladesh Police welcomed him at Gate-2. Later, a smart and well-equipped contingent of the Bangladesh Army’s President Guard Regiment (PGR) accorded the President a guard of honour at the Credential Field.

After the guard of honour, President’s Military Secretary Major General Mr. A S M Bahauddin, Secretary of the Public Division Mr. A J M Salahuddin Nagari, Press Secretary Mr. Sarwar Alam and PGR Commander Brigadier General Mr. Golam Arikul Alam welcomed the President and his family members with flowers at the Octagonal Hall of Bangabhaban. On his first day of office at Bangabhaban, the President remained in his office and signed official documents. He then signed the visitors’ book.
