464 Fake Claims Target BNP Government in 180 Days

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is the person with the highest number of fake news pieces (157). About 34 percent of the identified disinformation targeted him, while 78 percent of those claims were presented negatively. The claims included 34 sarcastic posts, 30 false statements, 22 fake photo cards, 19 AI-generated contents, seven old photos or videos and five edited photos.
The report also identified 262 disinformation campaigns targeting ministers, advisers and assistant-level officials. Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed faced 48 claims, Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Haque Milan 33, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir 26, Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku 15 and Nurul Haque Noor 11. Among advisers, Ruhul Kabir Rizvi faced 16 claims, while Mirza Abbas and Dr Zahid Ur Rahman each faced 14. The report also identified false claims targeting MPs, including 23 each against Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed and Kaiser Kamal.
