US-Bangla Airlines will resume flights on the Dhaka-Jashore route from September 9 following long-standing demands from residents of the greater Jashore region. The private airline will operate six flights a week, with two flights on each of three days.

Flights will operate on Wednesday, Saturday and Thursday using 72-seat ATR 72-600 aircraft.

Under the new schedule, the first flight will leave Dhaka at 9:30am and arrive in Jashore at 10:15am. It will depart Jashore at 10:45am and land at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at 11:30am.

The second flight will leave Dhaka at 4:45pm and reach Jashore at 5:30pm. It will depart Jashore at 6pm and arrive in Dhaka at 6:45pm.

The minimum one-way fare has been set at Tk5,749, while the return fare is Tk11,498, including applicable taxes and surcharges.

US-Bangla Airlines said the decision was made considering the demand for air connectivity in the greater Jashore region and the need for faster travel for business, medical treatment, education, tourism and other purposes.

US-Bangla began operations on the Dhaka-Jashore route on July 17, 2014. Since then, the airline has played a role in expanding domestic air connectivity and establishing faster and safer links between Dhaka and different parts of the country.

Currently, the airline operates regular domestic flights from Dhaka to Cox’s Bazar, Chattogram, Sylhet, Saidpur and Rajshahi. It has now decided to resume the Dhaka-Jashore service in response to long-standing demand from residents of Jashore.

The airline said it may increase the number of flights on the route in the future, depending on passenger demand and market conditions.
