PM Appoints 74 Family Members of Enforced Disappearance, Murder and July Martyrs

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has handed over job appointment letters to 74 family members of victims of enforced disappearances and killings, as well as families of those killed and injured during the July Uprising. He handed over the appointment letters at a ceremony held at the Karabi Hall of the PM’s Office in Tejgaon on Saturday afternoon.
Atikur Rahman Rumman, Additional Press Secretary to the PM, said a total of 74 family members of victims of enforced disappearances and killings, as well as families of those killed and injured in the July Uprising, were given job appointment letters. Of them, PM Tarique Rahman personally handed over appointment letters to 10 recipients.
Among those appointed are Ishfaq Ahmed, brother of Ifthekhar Ahmed Dinar, who was a victim of enforced disappearance; Moniruzzaman Hira, brother of Nuruzzaman Jony; Anan Hossain Noor, brother of Anwar Hossain Mahbub; Hasnain Reza, brother of Selim Reza Pintu; and Shammi Sultana, wife of Khaled Hossain Sohel. The PM also handed appointment letters to visually impaired July uprising fighter Alal Ahmed; Md. Abul Hossain, father of martyr Alvi; Zartaj Parveen, mother of martyr Ahnaf; injured fighter Kazi Saimum Siraj; and Mahbub Alam, brother of Israfil Islam.
Ishfaq Ahmed, Shammi Sultana, Alal Ahmed, martyr Alvi’s father Md. Abul Hossain, martyr Ahnaf’s mother Zartaj Parveen, and July uprising fighter Kazi Saimum Siraj expressed their gratitude to the prime minister for providing the appointment letters. They also called for the prosecution of those involved in enforced disappearances and killings.
The event was moderated by Atikur Rahman Rumman, convener of “Amra BNP Paribar” and Additional Press Secretary to the Prime Minister. Cabinet Secretary Nasimul Gani, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister ABM Abdus Sattar, Press Secretary Saleh Shibli, Deputy Press Secretaries Zahidul Islam Rony, Hasan Shiplu, Suzauddoula and Shahadat Swadhin, Assistant Press Secretaries AKM Nazmul Haque and Shahriar Pamir, and Moksedul Momin Mithun, a member of “Amra BNP Paribar,” among others, were present at the event.
