Mojtaba Khamenei Calls for Reducing Dollar Dependency Against Economic Crisis

In the midst of severe economic challenges and rising living costs, Iran’s Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, has emphasized expanding local production and progressively decreasing the importance of the US currency in the national economy. He gave this strategic speech on Friday, August 28, during Government Week, and praised the administration for continuing to take proactive measures to ensure that residents facing financial hardship have access to reasonable services and necessities. This notable yearly event honors early leaders killed in previous disastrous bombings around the country.
President Khamenei praised President Masoud Pezeshkian and other government managers for their sincere and responsible efforts, stating that despite mounting US and Israeli geopolitical pressures, crushing economic sanctions, and severe blockades, the administration’s proactive measures to manage energy resources and reconstruct critical areas are highly commendable. He stated that residents have a right to effective administrative services, which the government must actively ensure daily, pointing out that the resilient Iranian people have continuously demonstrated their enduring capacities throughout recent regional wars.
Addressing the fundamental structural concerns behind the current economic crisis, President Khamenei emphasized that a completely resilient system must now be at the heart of the country’s financial system. He highlighted that depending as much as possible on local industry and national skills is necessary to overcome widespread inflation and excessive living expenses. While advocating for maximum self-sufficiency, he also urged purchasing critical foreign items that cannot be produced locally in sufficient numbers to ensure continuous economic growth and stability.
These orders were delivered by President Khamenei in the midst of a new round of economic restrictions and intense political pressure from Washington against Tehran. He said that even while hostile activities have a significant influence on the country, national development and progress are still completely attainable by effectively controlling economic components, utilizing the great wisdom of the people, and applying current digital technologies. Moving away from traditional approaches and outdated administrative practices is thought to be essential to effectively overcoming the present external trade obstacles.
Regarding social growth and togetherness domestically, the Supreme Leader issued a strong caution that actions leading to artificial social divides and negative remarks that lower people’s spirits are extremely dangerous to the nation. In its basic governance policies, he called on the administration to give culture, education, and moral progress priority, with a focus on the welfare of educators, teachers, nurses, and doctors. He also emphasized how important housewives are to the successful advancement of our culture through the generations.
Ultimately, these specific policy objectives represent a significant strategic push toward increasing domestic output and protecting the country from external economic shocks. The Iranian leadership aims to successfully combat ongoing foreign economic warfare by reducing reliance on the US currency and focusing economic policy on self-sufficiency and technical innovation. This all-encompassing visionary plan seeks to protect the nation’s long-term security and constant growth from all adverse forces imposed by foreign enemies on a worldwide scale.
