China to Continue Supporting Modernization of Bangladesh Defence Sector

Brigadier General (Retd) Dr. M. Sakhawat Hussain, the Prime Minister’s defense adviser, received a polite greeting from Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Mr. Yao Wen on Thursday, September 3, at his office in the Armed Forces Division, Dhaka Cantonment, according to an ISPR press release. In addition to conducting insightful discussions on advanced professional training, the exchange of military education, and the development of technological capabilities, both sides expressed their opinions on how to advance and strengthen the current military and defense cooperation between Bangladesh and China.
Highlighting the long-standing historical relationship, strategic partnership, and China’s contribution to the nation’s developmental strategy, the PM’s Defense Adviser expressed high hopes that China’s support would continue to develop in the future. Both sides expressed belief that diplomatic ties will advance to the next stage through the sharing of experiences and the growth of training cooperation to address current military issues.
During the discussion, the Chinese ambassador affirmed his nation’s continuous support for Bangladesh’s defense sector’s modernization. Both parties came to the conclusion that they were determined to further strengthen their current cordial relationships and mutually beneficial defense cooperation going forward.
