Bangladesh Provides $1 Million in Aid to Nepal
The government of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has donated $1 million (Tk 123 million) to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund of Nepal as part of ongoing relief, recovery and humanitarian assistance efforts following sudden severe floods and landslides in Nepal.
On Thursday (September 3), State Minister for Foreign Affairs Humayun Kabir handed over a letter from Prime Minister Tarique Rahman to Nepal’s Ambassador to Bangladesh Ghanshyam Bhandari, addressed to the Prime Minister of Nepal, Balendra Shah, at the state guesthouse Padma. He also informed the ambassador about the assistance.
Earlier, on September 1, 2026, State Minister Humayun Kabir signed the condolence book opened at the Nepal Embassy in Dhaka. In response to the tragedy in Nepal, the Bangladesh Parliament had also adopted a condolence motion on August 27, 2026.
