8 Bangladeshis Arrested In Indonesia For Illegal Entry

Eight Bangladeshi citizens and eight Indonesian citizens have been arrested by the Indonesian Navy for allegedly entering the country illegally from Malaysia in a twin-engine speedboat. In response to information obtained on Sunday night that led to increased coastal surveillance, the interception occurred on Monday, August 31, near Purnama Beach in the western district of Dumai, Riau province.

The operation, which was carried out by three separate teams that included the Quick Response Team, maritime intelligence, and the Fleet Command Intelmar Operations Task Force led by intelligence unit head Mr. Wahyu Wididi Hidayat, was confirmed by Colonel Mr. Agung N. Kusumaji, head of the Dumai Naval Base.
