Areas Facing a 9-Hour Power Outage Today

Due to emergency maintenance and construction work, the electricity supply in around thirty sections of Satkhira’s Kaliganj upazila has been shut off for nine hours straight today, Sunday. Under the direction of the local Rural Electricity Office, the scheduled outage, which started at 9:00 AM and will last until 6:00 PM, is required to make it easier to move roadside power poles in the Phultola section of the upazila.

Mr. Jahangir Hossain, Deputy General Manager (DGM) of Kaliganj Upazila Rural Electricity, confirmed the situation by stating that power would be cut off for the allotted time to safely finish the pole relocation and that power would be turned back on as soon as the work finishes. Officials stated that electricity to the impacted areas will be restored without waiting for the evening deadline if the technical procedures are completed ahead of schedule.

Many places, such as Paukhalis, Pirojpur, Dhulbaria, Raipur, Khajabaria, Ujaimari, Nityanandapur, Kharitala, Tupadia, Maheshpur, Ratanpur, Gandusia, Goneshpur, Uchchapara, Muragachha, Bashjharia, Goraimahal, Muragachha Goalpota, Pirgajon, Bhadrakhali Bazar, Thekra, Sonar Bangla Club, Gobindapur, Srikala, Jibongachha, Kalikapur, Koliyuga, partial Kushalia, Bazar Gram, Rahimpur Saheb’s Mor, and Mahatpur, are affected. The energy office has apologized to local customers for the brief outage and reaffirmed its constant dedication to quickly restoring power.
