Attacks Must Stop to Protect Sanctity of Holy Makkah: Leaders of Various Islamic Parties

Leaders of various Islamic parties have expressed deep concern and strong protest over recent drone and missile attacks in different parts of Saudi Arabia, particularly the reported drone intrusion near the holy city of Makkah. In separate statements, the leaders said Makkah and Madinah are the centres of the faith, love and consciousness of the Muslim Ummah. They said it is in no way acceptable to put the holy cities and surrounding communities at risk of military attacks or conflict.

Bangladesh Nezam-e-Islam Party
In a statement, acting Ameer of the Bangladesh Nezam-e-Islam Party Maulana Abdul Qayyum Subhani and Secretary General Maulana Musa bin Izhar said Makkah and Madinah are the centres of the faith, love and consciousness of the Muslim Ummah. The two holy cities have a deep connection with the hearts of millions of Muslims around the world. Therefore, they said, it is in no way acceptable to put the holy cities and surrounding communities at risk of military attacks or conflict.

They said, according to information from Saudi authorities, a drone was shot down south of Makkah and a security alert was issued following the incident. Although the Houthis have denied allegations of targeting the holy city of Makkah, the recent drone and missile attacks in different parts of Saudi Arabia are a serious manifestation of regional tensions, they said.
The two leaders said holy sites in the Muslim world should not be made part of the political, military or geopolitical conflicts of any party. Ensuring the safety of innocent people and religious sites is the responsibility of all concerned parties.
They said it is particularly important to ensure the security of Makkah and Madinah and a safe environment for worshippers and Umrah pilgrims arriving from different countries to perform their religious duties without disruption.

Calling on the Houthis to stop drone and missile attacks on Saudi territory, they said escalating military tensions could not provide a lasting solution to any problem. Rather, such escalation increases the suffering of ordinary people and threatens stability across the region.
The leaders of the Bangladesh Nezam-e-Islam Party called on the international Muslim Ummah and concerned states to take effective diplomatic initiatives to ease tensions and play a united role in protecting the security and sanctity of holy sites. They also expressed hope for peace, stability and mutual restraint in Yemen and the wider Middle East.

Islami Oikya Jote
In a statement issued on Thursday, Islami Oikya Jote Chairman, Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh Central Adviser and Bangladesh Nezam-e-Islam Party President Advocate Maulana Abdur Rakib strongly condemned and protested against the reported Houthi drone attack in the Makkah area.
He said the Holy Kaaba is the heartbeat of the entire Muslim Ummah. Any attempt to make the boundaries of the holy Haramain Sharifain a target of military conflict would be an extremely provocative act against Islam and the Muslim Ummah.
He said that if anyone points a finger at the Holy Kaaba, the entire Muslim Ummah will rise in anger.

Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh
Ameer of Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh Allama Shah Muhibbullah Babunagari and Secretary General Allama Shayekh Sajidur Rahman expressed strong condemnation, outrage and indignation over the reported attempt by Yemen’s armed Houthi group to launch a drone attack targeting Makkah Mukarramah.
In a joint statement of protest, the leaders said, “Makkah and Madinah Sharif are the centres of faith for hundreds of millions of Muslims worldwide, the heartbeat of their hearts and the highest symbols of trust. Protecting the sanctity and security of Makkah Mukarramah and the Holy Kaaba is a responsibility more precious than life to the entire Muslim Ummah. Any attempt to make the boundaries of the holy Haramain Sharifain a target of military conflict is an extremely provocative act against Islam and the Muslim Ummah and constitutes the ultimate violation of the limits of tolerance.”

The leaders further said, “Dragging the Holy Kaaba and the holy city of Makkah into a struggle for political interests or military dominance is a heinous crime that has deeply hurt the religious sentiments of every Muslim in the world. Such a brazen attempt cannot be tolerated in any way. To protect the sanctity of the holy land and restore peace and stability in the Middle East, the Muslim world must immediately build a united resistance.”
They called on the OIC and the international community to take effective diplomatic measures to bring a lasting end to the bloodshed and conflict in Yemen and the wider Middle East, as well as take strict measures to prevent any conspiracy to disrupt the security of the holy land.

In the statement, the two leaders reaffirmed their commitment to stand by Saudi Arabia in the interest of the security of Makkah and Madinah and urged the global Muslim Ummah to remain highly alert and vigilant in protecting the holy land.
