Inauguration Ceremony of Women’s Section at Masjid-e-Gausul Azam Successfully Concluded
The newly renovated women’s section of the historic Masjid-e-Gausul Azam Boropir Abdul Qadir Jilani (R.A.) in Mohakhali, Dhaka, was officially inaugurated on Monday at 11:00 AM by Religious Affairs Minister Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain Kaikobad. The event was attended by the mosque’s president and daily Inqilab editor Alhaj A.M.M. Bahauddin, secretary Principal Shabbir Ahmad Momtazi, along with other dignitaries.
Speaking at the inauguration, the Religious Affairs Minister stated, “My association with Masjid-e-Gausul Azam dates back to its inception. I had a close relationship with its founder, the late Maulana M.A. Mannan (R.A.). It is due to his dedication and hard work that this sanctuary stands today. His successor and current president of the mosque, Alhaj A.M.M. Bahauddin, has successfully upheld his father’s legacy, and I am confident that our bond will remain steadfast.”
He further remarked, “Masjid-e-Gausul Azam is not merely a place of worship; it has long served as a center for preserving Islamic heritage and upholding true Ahle Sunnat principles in the country. Under the visionary leadership of its president, I believe the mosque will gain wider international recognition in the future. I am honored to partake in this inaugural ceremony.”
On behalf of the female worshippers, a floral welcome was presented to Minister Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain Kaikobad, and the mosque committee expressed deep gratitude for his presence despite his busy schedule. The attendance of local female worshippers, including Alhaj Nur Jahan Begum and Dhaka North Jatiyatabadi Mohila Dal President Alhaj Peara Mostafa, created a festive atmosphere.
The program concluded with a special prayer led by the Khatib of Masjid-e-Gausul Azam, Mufti Maulana Mahbur Rahman, seeking the welfare of the nation and praying for the health, longevity, and continued success of the Prime Minister.
