Jamaat Ameer Extends National Day Greetings to Xi Jinping

Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, Amir of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and Leader of the Opposition in Parliament, attended a reception hosted by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Dhaka to mark the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. Diplomats from various countries, prominent political figures, high-ranking government and non-government representatives, and distinguished guests were present at the event on Wednesday evening, September 23, in the Grand Ballroom of the Sheraton Hotel in the capital.

During the event, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman extended his warm greetings and heartiest congratulations to the government and the people of China on the occasion of their National Day. On this occasion, he handed over a letter addressed to Chinese President Mr. Xi Jinping to the Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh, Mr. Yao Wen.

The letter conveyed festive greetings and congratulations to the Chinese President, the government, and the people of China. Reaffirming the long-standing friendly relations between Bangladesh and China, the letter expressed hope that cooperation and the bond of friendship between the two nations would grow stronger and expand further in the future. Dr. Shafiqur Rahman also exchanged greetings and held informal discussions with foreign diplomats and guests attending the reception.

The Jamaat-e-Islami delegation present at the event included the party’s Nayeb-e-Amir ATM Azharul Islam MP, Assistant Secretaries General Maulana ATM Masum, Mr. Rafiqul Islam Khan MP, Maulana Abdul Halim, Mr. Moazzem Hossain Helal, and Advocate Ehsanul Mahbub Zubair, Central Executive Council Member Md. Mubarak Hossain, Central Executive Council Member and Dhaka South Secretary Dr. Shafiqul Islam Masud MP, and Mr. Ali Ahmad Mabrur, Member of the Foreign Affairs Advisory Committee to the Leader of the Opposition.
