Bangladesh Provides $1 million in Aid to Nepal
The government of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has given the PM’s Disaster Relief Fund of Nepal a grant of one million US dollars (123 million BDT) as part of continuing relief, rescue, and humanitarian assistance efforts in response to the sudden and catastrophic floods and landslides in Nepal.
At the state guest house ‘Padma’ on Thursday, September 3, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Mr. Humayun Kabir handed over a letter written by PM Tarique Rahman to Nepalese PM Balendra Shah to Mr. Ghanshyam Bhandari, the country’s ambassador to Bangladesh, informing him of this assistance.
The condolence book was launched at the Nepalese Embassy in Dhaka earlier on September 1, 2026, and it was signed by State Minister for Foreign Affairs Mr. Humayun Kabir. On August 27, 2026, the Jatiya Sangsad (National Parliament) of Bangladesh also passed a vote of condolence in response to the catastrophic tragedy in Nepal.
