Committees to Be Formed in All Upazilas to Curb Juvenile Gangs

The Ministry of Home Affairs has decided to form committees in all upazilas across the country to prevent juvenile gang activities, with the Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) serving as chairperson and the officer-in-charge (OC) of the local police station as member secretary.
The decision was announced in a notice signed by the ministry’s Public Relations Officer Faisal Hasan on Monday (October 19).

The notice did not provide details about the committees’ terms of reference, membership or the deadline for completing their formation. The ministry may formally announce these details later.
The committees are expected to work in coordination with local administration and law enforcement agencies to address the activities of juvenile gangs.
