Darwin Match: Hasan Enjoys Bowling Alone
On the second day of the three-day warm-up match in Darwin, Hasan Mahmud continued his excellent bowling form, and Taskin Ahmed also performed remarkably. But the other three pacers turned out to be pricey. After a mixed bowling performance, Bangladesh’s batting failed early on, losing two fast wickets to put them in a vulnerable position against Cricket Australia XI, who scored 355 all out and took a 92-run lead in the first innings. Bangladesh struggled early in their second innings, losing Shadman Islam for six. After scoring 16 in the first innings, Mominul Haq was bowled for 6 late in the day, failing once more to take advantage of the preparation. Opener Tanzid Hasan survived until stumps.
Hasan was pleased with the bowling unit’s discipline despite giving up a 92-run lead after their own 263 all out, comparing the favourable bounce and swing in Darwin to English county conditions.
