Dawat-e-Islami’s Three-Day Ijtema to Begin on November 18

The three-day ‘Sunnat-e-Bhora Ijtema’ (congregation) of Dawat-e-Islami Bangladesh is scheduled to commence on November 18 at Diabari, Uttara, in the capital. The major religious gathering aims to inspire the Muslim Ummah toward Islamic education, self-purification, and adherence to the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) in light of the Holy Quran and Sunnah. According to the organizers, the event will take place on November 18, 19, and 20 at the Diabari ground, situated conveniently adjacent to the Uttara Center Metro Rail Station.
Preparatory activities for the Ijtema are already underway, with venue preparation work officially inaugurated on Friday following Jummah prayers. The inauguration ceremony was presided over by Alhajj Abdul Mubin Attari, President of Dawat-e-Islami Bangladesh and Member of the Majlis-e-Shura, while Mr. Mohammad Kamal Attari, Member of Dawat-e-Islami Bangladesh and International Trustee, attended as chief guest. Key dignitaries including Mufti Abdur Rahman Al-Qaderi and Mufti Jahirul Islam Mujaddedi Attari joined central leaders, organizational officials, and Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat representatives at the event.
Highlighting the deep spiritual significance of the upcoming congregation, speakers at the ceremony stated, ‘Such religious gatherings play a vital role in spreading authentic Islamic teachings, promoting self-purification, and encouraging people to align their lives with the Sunnah of the Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).’ They sought everyone’s active cooperation for the overall success of the Ijtema and urged attendees to extend the invitation to Muslims across all strata of society, fostering a united effort to make the congregation impactful.
Organizers noted that month-long venue preparations will be carried out to ensure the major event is conducted smoothly and in an orderly manner. Hundreds of volunteers are set to contribute their manual labor to these preparation efforts, while relevant officials will directly oversee the necessary ground arrangements to accommodate the anticipated influx of devout attendees. Dawat-e-Islami Bangladesh has extended a cordial invitation to Muslims from Dhaka and across the country to participate in this uplifting three-day congregation.
Throughout the three-day Ijtema, discussions will focus on Quran- and Sunnah-based Islamic teachings, self-purification, moral character building, and the practical application of Islamic ideals in daily life. Special emphasis will also be placed on fostering good character, human values, mutual brotherhood, and regular spiritual practices. Event organizers expressed hope that with enthusiastic public participation, the Diabari Ijtema will inspire a renewed dedication to religious learning and the practice of the Sunnah, making a lasting positive impact on society.
