Demand for State Declaration of Qadianis as Non-Muslims in Jhalakathi

The Jhalakathi district branch of the Bangladesh Khatme Nubuwat Conservation Committee has demanded that Qadianis be declared non-Muslims at the state level and that a law be enacted in parliament to this effect. The leaders of the organization made this demand during a press conference held at the Jhalakathi Press Club at 12:00 PM on Thursday, October 8. The press conference was organized under the slogan, ‘There is no prophet after the Prophet; we want a law in parliament’.
According to the organization’s statement, per the fundamental creed of Islam, Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) is the final prophet, and no prophet will come after him. However, the Qadiani doctrine holds a different belief regarding prophethood. Consequently, the organization demanded that Qadianis be declared non-Muslims at the state level as a separate religious community contrary to the core tenets of Islam.
The written statement presented at the press conference asserted that Qadianis should not be allowed to identify as Muslims. Instead, their distinct religious identity must be explicitly recorded in government documents, including birth registrations, national identity cards, passports, and marriage and divorce records. The demands also include prohibiting them from using their places of worship as mosques, barring their participation in Islamic religious events, and disallowing their burial in Muslim graveyards. It was further stated that marital relations between Muslims and Qadianis would be considered invalid.
Additionally, the statement noted that Qadianis are barred from entering Makkah, and that other Muslim-majority countries have also officially declared Qadianis as non-Muslims. In light of this, the organization urged the Government of Bangladesh to take prompt action. Those present at the press conference included Mufti Abdul Gaffar Khan, President of the Jhalakathi district branch of the Khatme Nubuwat Conservation Committee; Galua Peer Maulana Abdur Rahim; Karimpur Peer Maulana Hedayetullah Fayezi; District Secretary Mufti Ayub Khan; Maulana Rakibul Islam Asheqi; Hafez Mahbubur Rahman; and Maulana Sakhawat Hossain.
