Eid-e-Miladunnabi Celebrations Must Not Face Restrictions by Right-Wing Extremist

Former interim government adviser Mahfuz Alam has called on all parties to ensure that Eid-e-Miladunnabi (PBUH) celebrations take place without obstruction. He made the call in a Facebook post on Tuesday.

Mahfuz Alam wrote, “All arrangements on the occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) must be allowed to be held without any hindrance by all parties. This practice of praising the Prophet cannot be restricted anywhere in the face of opposition from the right-wing extremists.”

He said the tradition of expressing love and respect for the Prophet (PBUH) is closely linked to Bengal’s cultural heritage. He further wrote, “The Prophet is intertwined with the soul of Bengal. The culture of Nabiji Prashasti, Maulud Sharif and Nate Rasul, which has been passed down from time immemorial in Bengal, will continue.”
