Foreign Investment Essential to Accelerate Development: Liberation War Affairs Minister

Liberation War Affairs Minister Advocate Ahmed Azam Khan MP has said that the country’s development cannot be accelerated without foreign investment. “Honourable Prime Minister is attracting foreign investors to invest in the country. Not only poor countries like ours, but developed countries are also attracting investors,” he said.

He said foreign investors would not only invest in the country but also create employment opportunities. Local people would get priority in employment, he added. He also said local people should ensure that Chinese investors build environmentally friendly mills and industries.

He made the remarks as the chief guest while inspecting the site for the construction of a China Feed and Textile Factory in the Deobari Chakla area of Dariapur Union in Sakhipur upazila on Friday (September 18).

Among others, representatives of the Chinese company Mr. Sky, Senior Joint Secretary Amin Sharif Supon, Sakhipur upazila BNP Acting President Md. Nazim Uddin Master, Vice President Md. Nasir Uddin and Md. Akbar Hossain, Acting General Secretary Md. Kabir Hasan, Organising Secretary Shikdar Md. Sabur Reza, Country Director Anisur Rahman, and Municipal Organising Secretary Md. Mahbubur Rahman Tipu were present.

Mr. Azam Khan further said, “I am a minister of the government, but I am your MP. Your interests will be given priority in any investment. That is why I keep coming among you again and again.” He added, “During the previous government, an MP was a ruler; now an MP is a servant.”
