Four Bangladeshi Students Triumph with Top Positions at Saudi International Quran Competition

Four Bangladeshi Quran reciters chosen by the Islamic Foundation won first place in the esteemed King Abdulaziz International Quran Competition in Holy Makkah, an incredible triumph that gave honour to the nation on a global scale. Hafez Mohammad Zakariya won first prize in the 15 Para category, outperforming competitors from 133 nations, while Hafez Sheikh Md. Mahmudul Hasan Ashrafi, Rabeta Binte Romjan, and Musfira Bint Mahmud each placed third in their respective divisions.

In Bangladeshi national Quran tournaments, all four champions had a stellar record. Rabeta Binte Romjan placed third in Channel 24’s national competition, while Hafez Mahmudul Hasan Ashrafi and Hafez Md. Zakariya earlier won first place in television shows produced by Quran Sunnah Multimedia. Directly from Makkah, Ar-Raiyan International Madrasah’s principal, Qayyum Mollah, confirmed their historic achievement.

Saudi Arabian Airlines is expected to transport the winning group to Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Friday afternoon, where they would be greeted with open arms. Minister of Religious Affairs, Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain Kaikobad,  expressed his sincere congratulations to the awardees, their guardians, and their professors for giving Bangladesh international recognition and wished them continued success in serving Islam.
