Gas-Like Substance Found During Deep Tube-Well Drilling in Haluaghat

A gas-like substance was reportedly found underground while drilling a deep tube well for a mosque in Haluaghat, Mymensingh. The substance was detected during drilling near the river, across from Raghunathpur Dak Bungalow, in East Darshapara village of the upazila.

According to local sources, work was underway to install the deep tube well for a local mosque. At one stage of the drilling, a substance resembling gas was seen coming out from underground. The news quickly spread, drawing curious local residents to the site. After being informed, the local administration took necessary measures to secure the area. People have been advised to remain cautious while moving around the site to avoid any potential risk.

However, it has not yet been confirmed whether the substance is actually natural gas or another underground gas caused by natural geological processes. Experts or the relevant authorities will need to conduct tests to determine its nature and source.

Local residents said they had never witnessed such an incident in the area during tube-well drilling before. The reported discovery has generated considerable interest among people in the locality. The administration is monitoring the situation. A clear assessment of the presence, nature and possible quantity of the gas will only be possible after examination by the relevant authorities.
