Handing LGBTQ Propaganda Book To Hafizs Shameful For Nation: Maulana Abdul Awal
Maulana Abdul Awal made strong remarks about a recent controversy on Saturday. He serves as Deputy Ameer of Islami Andolan Bangladesh. He said the nation had long demanded state honors for world champion Hafizs. He thanked the Prime Minister for finally inviting and honoring them recently.
Maulana Awal then raised a serious concern about the event. He said organizers included a book by a gay author among the gifts. He named this book Nexus and criticized its content directly. He said the book distorts Islam and presents homosexuality as normal.
He called this situation shameful for the entire nation. He said people want to believe this was an honest mistake. He then demanded the government formally acknowledge and correct this error. Maulana Awal made these remarks as chief guest at an event.
The event was a Khulna divisional grassroots representative meeting. It took place in Khulna on Saturday (September 19) afternoon. Maulana Gazi Ataur Rahman also spoke at the meeting as special guest. He serves as the party’s Secretary General.
Maulana Rahman said the government has failed to keep its promises. He questioned the government’s sincerity regarding reforms. He said these reforms were expected after the July mass uprising. Mr. K M Atikur Rahman also attended as special guest.
He serves as Assistant Secretary General of the party. Mufti Abdul Jalil presided over the meeting. He serves as Khulna Divisional Organizing Secretary for the party.
