Hasan Masood leaves acting for religion

Formerly well-known in Bangladesh’s entertainment industry, actor, director, and writer Hasan Masood retired from acting in favour of a spiritual lifestyle. He revealed in a recent TV interview that he has become more religious as a result of a significant personal development, limiting his on-screen appearances to ads.

Masood also disclosed a significant change in his personal routine, saying that reading a lot made him feel emotionally disconnected. He quit reading completely and sold about 1,200 books at Nilkhet for a nominal cost in an attempt to bring back his inner sentiment.

Before entering the media, Masood was a cadet in the Bangladesh Army from 1985 until his retirement as a captain in 1992. After that, he worked as a journalist for publications like BBC Bangla and The Daily Star. In addition to his musical activities, he made his screen debut in Mostofa Sarwar Farooki’s 2003 film Bachelor and became well-known for his roles in famous television series including House Full, Taxi Driver, and Graduate.
