West Bengal actress Idhika Paul has said, `Priyotoma’ which marked her debut in Bangladesh’s film industry, remains one of the biggest milestones of her acting career. She also expressed her desire to work in Bangladesh again in another story-driven film.
Idhika became widely known among Bangladeshi audiences after starring opposite Shakib Khan in Priyotoma, directed by Himel Ashraf. Although she has since acted in several other films, she said the movie holds a special place in her heart.
Currently busy shooting director Srijit Mukherji’s new film in Kolkata, Idhika recently looked back on her experience of Priyotoma in an interview. She said the film is associated with many cherished memories and emotions.
Recalling her first visit to Dhaka, the actress said, she toured the Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC), visited Hatirjheel, spent time at a coffee shop, and also went to the office of Versatile Media before filming began.
The actress said, shooting for Priyotoma started a few days later and marked her first collaboration with Shakib Khan. Although she returned to Kolkata after filming, the overwhelming love she received from Bangladeshi audiences following the film’s release exceeded all her expectations.
