Islami Ain Songrokkhon Parishad Executive President Condemns President’s Controversial Remarks

Mufti Abdullah Yahya, Executive President of Islami Ain Sangrakkhan Parishad, has strongly protested the president’s remark at a Hindu community event that “Goddess Durga appeared whenever injustice and oppression occurred in the world.”
Speaking during a discussion with prominent religious scholars of Khulna at Jamia Islamia Markazul Ulum Madrasah on Tuesday morning (October 20), Mufti Yahya emphasized that matters of religious belief and creed are extremely sensitive. He stated that according to Islamic creed, Almighty Allah is the sole Creator, Sustainer, and true Protector of the universe, making it essential to respect Islamic fundamentals.
Calling Bangladesh a country of communal harmony where people of all faiths have the right to practice their rituals, he noted that individuals in high state offices must exercise extreme caution and responsibility to preserve this harmony. He termed the remarks faith-destroying and deeply hurtful to Muslim sentiments, urging the authorities to acknowledge the mistake and express respect for religious beliefs.
The meeting also included discussions on preserving religious values, Islamic laws, and communal harmony. Prominent figures such as Mufti Zakir Hussain, Mufti Sharif Mashhudur Rahman, Mufti Rabiul Islam Rafe, Maulana Nesar Uddin, Mufti Junaid Ahmad, Mufti Ibrahim Khalil, and Maulana Iqbal Hussain were present among others.
