Muttaki calls for stronger political and economic ties with Bangladesh

Afghanistan’s Foreign Minister Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaki has called for strengthening political, economic and cultural relations between Afghanistan and Bangladesh during a meeting with a delegation of Bangladeshi religious scholars, businessmen and industrialists.

According to a statement issued by Afghanistan’s Foreign Ministry on Wednesday (September 9), Mr Muttaki assured the delegation of the investment and trade opportunities available in Afghanistan. He stressed that increased connectivity between the two countries could play a significant role in expanding bilateral cooperation.

The Bangladeshi delegation expressed satisfaction with its visit to Afghanistan and welcomed the country’s current security situation and newly emerging investment opportunities.

The delegation noted that constructive engagement between the governments and peoples of the two countries could further expand relations between Afghanistan and Bangladesh.

Both sides expressed hope that continued visits and mutual exchanges would play an effective role in strengthening bilateral ties and enhancing cooperation between Afghanistan and Bangladesh.
