Peace and Freedom Come from Following Prophet’s Ideals: Pir Sabir Shah

A colourful procession was held in Dhaka to mark Eid-e-Miladunnabi (PBUH), drawing a large number of Muslims from the capital and other parts of the country. The procession was organised by the Dhaka branch of Anjuman-e-Rahmani Ahmadiyya Sunni Trust in collaboration with the Gausia Committee Bangladesh, Dhaka. It began at Mohammadpur Kaderia Tayyebiya Kamil Madrasa and passed through Taj Mahal Road, Krishi Market, Ring Road, Shia Mosque, Mohammadpur Bus Stand, Seven Mosque Road, Dhanmondi Road 27, Mirpur Road, Asad Gate and College Gate before ending at Shyamoli Club Ground.

Participants carried banners and posters featuring Islamic messages and chanted slogans including “Naraye Takbir” and “Naraye Risalat”. They also performed Hamd, Naat Rasul and Ghazal. A discussion and prayer session was held at Shyamoli Club Ground after the procession. Hazrat Allama Syed Muhammad Pir Sabir Shah presided over the event as chief guest. Shahzada Syed Muhammad Qasim Shah and Syed Aqib Ahmad Shah attended as special guests.

In his speech, Pir Sabir Shah said the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is the greatest blessing and mercy of Allah for humanity. He said Muslims celebrate the Prophet’s birth anniversary in accordance with Quranic teachings. He said, “The ideals of the Prophet (peace be upon him) are the path to peace, equality, humanity and liberation.” He added that following the Prophet’s teachings can help establish peace, harmony, justice and humanity in individual, social and state life.

Pir Sabir Shah also said Islam was revealed as a way of life to free humanity from extremism, terrorism, injustice and wrongdoing. He said Sufi Sunni Muslims reject extremism and terrorism in the name of Islam. Mufti Muhammad Jasim Uddin Al-Azhari, principal of Qaderia Tayyebiya Kamil Madrasa, and other scholars addressed the gathering. Mufti Abul Kashem Mohammad Fazlul Haque, vice-principal of the madrasa, moderated the programme. Speakers called for peace, social harmony, human values, Muslim unity and collective efforts for the welfare of the country. According to the organisers, the annual Jasane Julus began in Chittagong in 1974 and later spread to Dhaka and other parts of the country.
