Prime Minister Visits Injured Army Officer at CM
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman visited the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka on Friday afternoon, September 11, to evaluate the condition of a critically injured army officer. The officer was admitted to the specialized facility for advanced medical treatment following a severe training incident. During his visit, the PM personally inquired about the patient’s physical state and held detailed discussions with the attending specialists to review the emergency treatment protocols being administered.

The tragedy occurred last Wednesday during a Bangladesh Army field firing exercise in Hathazari, Chattogram, when a sudden accident took place while shelling from a military tank. The catastrophic blast resulted in the immediate deaths of two dedicated army personnel and left the officer with life-threatening injuries. Following initial stabilization at a regional medical facility, the wounded officer was swiftly transported to Dhaka for comprehensive, high-level clinical management at the CMH.

An emotional atmosphere prevailed during the visit as PM Tarique Rahman engaged directly with the injured officer and his family members, offering words of solace and courage. Wishing him a quick and complete recovery, the PM directed the hospital administration to ensure all necessary resources are mobilized. ‘Provide him with the highest standard of medical care and leave no stone unturned for his complete recovery,’ he instructed the concerned authorities.

Expressing profound sorrow over the tragic deaths of the two military personnel killed in the Hathazari incident, PM Tarique Rahman extended his deepest condolences to their grieving families. He assured the bereaved relatives that the nation stands united with them in this hour of immense pain and loss. The PM further emphasized that the state would extend all necessary support to the families of the fallen service members.
