Priyanka Chopra to star in new Hollywood film

Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra is set to star alongside Oscar-winning actor Russell Crowe in ‘Blue Eye’, a new science-fiction action thriller directed by Nimród Antal, known for Predators.

According to Deadline, the film is set in the dense forests of Congo, where a UN translator is sent on a covert military mission to locate a crashed military aircraft that does not officially exist. Accompanied by a special operations team, the translator must cross territory controlled by armed militias. As they approach the wreckage, a series of shocking secrets emerge, turning the rescue mission into a desperate fight for survival. The screenplay was written by David Frigerio, William Eubank and Carlyle Eubank.

Highland Film Group will begin selling worldwide distribution rights at the Toronto International Film Festival’s film market in September. Antal described Blue Eye as a character-driven thriller combining science-fiction elements with intense, realistic action. He said he was excited to work with Crowe and Chopra. Filming is scheduled to begin on Australia’s Gold Coast later this year.
