Rogers’ Strategy Backfires as 60% of Jewish Voters Back El-Sayed

Former US Representative Andy Levin has said that Republican candidate Mike Rogers’ strategy in Michigan’s highly competitive Senate election ultimately produced the opposite of its intended effect. Preliminary exit poll data indicate that nearly 60 per cent of Jewish voters in Michigan cast their ballots for Democratic candidate Abdul El-Sayed. According to analysts, Republican efforts to politically polarise voters and create divisions over El-Sayed failed to make much of an impact. Instead, the strategy reportedly backfired on Rogers. Former Congressman Andy Levin said Rogers’ camp had attempted to gain political advantage by focusing on issues involving Haley Stevens and other matters, but those efforts ultimately failed. The voting pattern among minority and majority communities, against the backdrop of Michigan’s broader political landscape, is expected to bring significant changes to the electoral equation.
