State Minister Concerns Climate Change Risks to Developing Countries

State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaed Islam has expressed deep sorrow and condolences over the loss of lives caused by the recent devastating flash floods in northern Nepal. On Sunday (September 20), she visited the Nepalese Embassy in Dhaka, expressed condolences to those affected by the floods and signed the condolence book.

During the visit, Ms. Shama Obaed expressed deep sympathy for the people of Nepal. She also conveyed her profound condolences to those who lost their loved ones in the devastating natural disaster. The state minister also expressed concern over the growing risks facing developing countries due to climate change-related disasters.

During the meeting, the state minister discussed various issues concerning Bangladesh-Nepal bilateral relations with the Nepalese ambassador, as well as matters related to the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC).
