Trump Defeated in War and Elections, Iran to Deliver More Setbacks

Iran’s Judiciary Chief Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Ejei has launched a sharp attack on Donald Trump after the Democrats took control of Congress from the Republican Party in the US midterm elections. He said Trump had been defeated both militarily and politically, warning that Iran would ensure further defeats for the US president. Mohseni-Ejei made the remarks in a reaction to the Democrats’ victory in the recent US midterm elections. In a post on Telegram, he said: “Trump has been defeated in both war and politics; we will certainly deliver more defeats to him. This is only the initial result.”

Recalling historic events, he added: “November 4 has always been a day of defeat for Americans. The memory of the martyred school and university students, particularly the beloved student martyrs of Minab, will remain eternal.” Analysts say Mohseni-Ejei was referring primarily to the 1979 US embassy hostage crisis in Tehran, which began on November 4 that year. During the crisis, several American diplomats and civilians were taken hostage at the US embassy in the Iranian capital.
