US-Iran War Is Main Cause of Rising Cost of Living in France: Macron

French President Emmanuel Macron has directly blamed the US-Iran war for the severe cost-of-living crisis and inflation currently affecting France.
He made the remarks in an interview with French YouTuber HugoDécrypte.
Mr. Macron said the war with Iran, the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz and the resulting sharp rise in oil prices were central to the decline in French citizens’ purchasing power. He added that France was paying the price of a war in which it had not directly participated.
The protests, which began with high school students demonstrating over the learning environment, have now spread nationwide. Growing public anger over the rising cost of living has further intensified the movement, leaving France in a state of widespread unrest.
