What Should a Latecomer Do If the Imam Performs Sajdah Sahw in the Final Rak‘ah?

Question: If a person joins the congregational prayer in the final rak‘ah and the imam turns to the right to say salam and then performs Sajdah Sahw (prostration of forgetfulness), what should the latecomer do first? Should he first turn to the right and say salam, or should he immediately perform the prostration along with the imam? Since his prayer is not yet complete, he did not turn to the right and say salam with the imam. What should he do when the imam goes into prostration?

Answer: During congregational prayer, the follower must follow the imam in all circumstances.
