Zero Tolerance Against Syndicates to Continue: Attorney General

Attorney General Barrister Mr. Ruhul Quddus Kajol has declared that no dishonest quarter, corruption ring, or unethical syndicate will be allowed to establish itself within the Attorney General’s Office under any circumstances. He stated that a zero-tolerance policy will be maintained against them.

He made these remarks on Friday morning, September 18 at the Holiday Inn hotel in Tejgaon, Dhaka. Mr. Ruhul Quddus Kajol attended as the chief guest at the inauguration of an advanced training program on ethics for law officers working at the Attorney General’s Office, titled ‘Strengthening the Principles and Practices of Prosecutorial Ethics for the Attorney General’s Office of Bangladesh,’ organized with the assistance of the UN and UNDP.

He stated that action would be taken if anyone in the Attorney General’s Office was found involved in money laundering. Furthermore, professional standing will be ensured by maintaining neutrality and keeping it free from political influence. The Attorney General also noted that the responsibility of state law officers is not merely to win cases, but to provide maximum cooperation in ensuring justice in court.

It is worth noting that this two-day advanced training program on ethics for law officers serving in the Attorney General’s Office of Bangladesh has been organized for the first time. A total of 160 Deputy Attorney Generals and Assistant Attorney Generals working at the Attorney General’s Office are taking part in this training.
