Tooth-Like Growth Appears on Teenager’s Eyelid

A rare case has emerged in India involving a 16-year-old boy who developed a hard growth resembling a tooth or a small horn on his upper eyelid.
Medical experts say that although the growth looks like a tooth, it is actually a rare skin condition known as a “cutaneous horn.” It develops when keratin, a protein naturally found in the skin, accumulates excessively and abnormally in one area, forming a hard, horn-like or tooth-like growth.
Doctors say the condition is extremely rare when it occurs in a sensitive area such as the eyelid. However, the growth can be safely removed through a minor surgical procedure performed by specialist surgeons.
