Palestinians Are Key to Preserving Israel’s Existence

The future of Zionism, Israel’s state ideology, depends on recognising Palestinian rights and their right to self-determination, according to an article titled “Palestinians Are the Key to Saving Zionism”.
As the title suggests, ensuring Israel’s long-term security and political stability will be difficult without including Palestinians or addressing their national aspirations. The article highlights the importance of recognising the rights and future of both peoples in seeking a lasting solution to the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Zionism developed primarily as a movement to establish a national homeland for the Jewish people. However, its political meaning and practical implementation have long been subjects of debate. Palestinians have struggled for decades over the establishment of Israel, subsequent displacement, occupation and their right to an independent state. At the same time, the Jewish people’s right to self-determination and their security remain important aspects of the conflict.
Recently, debates have also emerged in Israeli politics over cooperation between Arab and Jewish parties. As no political bloc has secured enough seats to form a government independently in the country’s elections, the possibility of forming a government with the support of Arab parties has come under discussion.
