JSS terrorist from Chattogram Hill Tracts arrested with a large amount of bullets in Tripura

Police in India’s Tripura have detained a terrorist of the Parbatya Chattagram Jana Samhati Samiti (JSS, Santu Larma faction) from the Chattogram Hill Tracts (CHT) region of Bangladesh. He was held with a large amount of bullets. The arrest was made in the area under Maharani Police Station in Udaipur Subdivision of Gomati District.

The arrested man is Bimal Chakma. He is the son of Bhuban Chakma, a resident of Shantitila in Dudukchhara, Panchhari, Khagrachhari District. Police recovered 200 rounds of bullets from him.

According to police, Bimal Chakma worked under the direction of Mr. Pratyuttar Chakma and Mr. Samajpriya Chakma, two top JSS leaders of the Chattogram Hill Tracts. These two leaders are alleged to be linked with Mr. Jyotishman Chakma alias Bulbul. He is a descendant of Mr. Santu Larma and the Deputy Field Commander of the Jumma Liberation Army.

The Times of India reported that police have started an investigation. They want to find out the main purpose of the recovered bullets and whether anyone else is involved.
