We will include all parts of Islamic values in the constitution: Home Minister

Home Minister Mr. Salahuddin Ahmed said the people of this country will never again allow the genocidal Awami League to do politics here. He said there will be no place in this country for those cruel, autocratic fascists who took the blood of the people through extreme injustice, oppression and torture. He spoke yesterday before the Friday prayer.
He was the chief guest on the closing day of the two day 104th annual Deeni Mahasammelan of Babunagar Madrasa in Fatikchhari, Chattogram.
The Home Minister said this very important election was held after fascism. He said that before the election and during the movement, Hefazat e Islam kept up steady protests for religion, for the country and against the fascist, anti Islam, illegal government, even though it is a nonpolitical organisation.
He said it took 23 years to win the independence of Bangladesh. It took 16 to 17 years to rescue the people of this country from fascism and from this government that hated Islam and hated Islamic scholars. Ulema gave their blood. He said many scholars and students were martyred, but not everyone knows their names yet. We do not know where their graves are. He said the country was freed from this anti Islam government through much bloodshed, up a ladder of blood.
Mr. Salahuddin Ahmed said that during the July and August mass uprising alone, 1,400 people were martyred, according to the United Nations. Before that, in the past 16 to 17 years under the fascists, nearly 3,000 people became victims of enforced disappearance. He said he was one of them. He thanked the Almighty for keeping him alive and said he is alive because of the prayers of the people. He said nearly 7,000 people were killed or tortured in different ways. Millions were hit with attacks and cases. He asked whether we want those fascists to come back, to return again. He asked who is trying to create the ground for that today.
He said, “Those who are trying to cause unrest in the garment sector have the hand of that fascist force behind them. There are wrongdoers in this country who do politics by selling the name of Islam, yet their election manifesto has nothing close to Islam. You know that Akimuddin was dropped from the manifesto of those who call themselves an Islamic party. They say one thing with their mouths, but they do not say what their documents prove.”
The Home Minister said we believe in Islamic values. He said we added Bismillah and we recited the Quran. He said we have set up the politics of nationalist Islamic values of martyr President Mr. Ziaur Rahman. He said we have built a united Bangladesh with all groups of people, where all of us have one national identity.
He said we never want to see division in the nation in this country. He said that we have clearly said that the July Charter, which was prepared after long discussion in line with the hopes of the student and people’s mass uprising, will certainly be implemented. He said that beyond this, we will include all parts of Islamic values in the constitution, Insha Allah.
He said, “We will restore the faith and trust in Almighty Allah that fascist Ms. Sheikh Hasina removed from the national principles and the fundamental principles of state policy. We will again include the words of firm trust and faith in Almighty Allah in the preamble of the constitution and in the fundamental principles of state policy.”
He said it was martyr President Mr. Ziaur Rahman who put “Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim” at the start of this constitution through the fifth amendment of Bangladesh. He said we do politics for that party.
Mr. Salahuddin Ahmed said there will be much debate among us, and we may be divided politically. He said each of us may hold a different ideology based politics. But he said we agree on one question. The people of this country will never again allow those fascist forces to do politics who killed people, carried out genocide and massacres, took the blood of Islamic scholars for 17 long years, stopped people from praying in mosques and soaked mosques in blood.
